The Hamilton tartan has two clear identities. Green Modern features a green and blue base, with intersecting fine white lines, creating a subtle and stately look. Red Modern has a vivid red and blue base, with white crossed lines, for a bold, contrasting look. Similarly to other tartans, its Ancient, and Weathered versions also offer different levels of tone and contrast. The tartan is associated with the powerful Hamilton family, one of the leading Lowland houses of Lanarkshire.
