The Ramsay tartan has two clear identities. Red Modern features a red base, with intersecting black and fine white lines, creating a bold and traditional look. In contrast, Blue Modern has a blue base, with black and fine white crossed lines, for a more subtle, yet equally sophisticated look. Similarly to other tartans, it can also be woven in Ancient, which offers different levels of tone and contrast. The tartan represents Clan Ramsay, a Lowland family with lands in Midlothian and Angus.
